TABLE TENNIS.
Mount Gambier Table Tennis
Club Inc. played it’s finals of the
Autumn Season last week in all grades.
In A Grade, LDN Elite showed the importance of the doubles rubbers in
the team competition by taking out both, and winning on the night by the
narrowest of margins. This was despite Tim Thiel winning all 3 of his singles
rubbers for Cheese.
In B1 Grade, Intelligence scored a narrow victory over Julie’s
Wonders, once again by the narrowest margin. Ben Rowe starred for the winners,
taking out all 3 singles rubbers.
The B2 Grade final saw the emergence of a rising star, with 11year old
Josh Jantosh winning 3 singles rubbers to guide PJ’s to a 6-4 victory over
Balls of Fury.
Dominators lived up to their
name in the B3 Grade final, with an 8-3 demolition of RAM. Simon Hanson once
again the leader with a 3 singles haul.
The final in C Grade was an all junior affair, with
Underdogs having the edge over 3 Amigos. A very competitive match, of a good
standard, with Ronald Reid winning 3 singles for Underdogs.
The Novice Junior Grade completed a successful season with round robin
matches and a coaching session. Nic Schultz won the Best and Fairest trophy,
and the Most Improved was Rylyn Reid.
The Winter Season for all
grades starts Tuesday 21st July. Details please contact Peter Dean
